Martha gets 5 months jail time
"I'll be back," quips Schwarzenegger...I mean, Stewart

In a very Arnold like fashion, Martha Stewart vowed, "I'll be back," after being setenced to 5 months jail time and a $30,000 dollar fine. The judge also said that Stewart will face 5 months home confinement and two years supervised probation.

Martha will not be behind bars just yet, after the judge allowed her a stay while her lawyers file her appeal. Stewart tried to get a new trial earlier, citing some kind of juror tampering, but was not allowed one by the judge.

Interestingly enough, shares of Martha Stewart Omnimedia jumped up 35% after she was sentenced, from $3.11 to $11.80.

In other news, Martha supporters are appealing to the President with a petition that can be found at savemartha.com. Honestly, I do agree that what she has done is nothing compared to the Ken Lay's of the time, but still, she did lie to two separate government organizations, and she must pay for the crimes she committed. I mean, if you think about it--if you or I had committed the same crime, I seriously doubt if we would have 14,000 people signing a petition so that we might avoid jail. Why should celebrities get special treament? Leave me some comments and perhaps let me know why.
